What is the Equipping for Life initiative?

Our aim is to provide funds for the purchase of essential equipment for UgandAid students to undertake a course fully and safely. We are asking people to make a donation as a gift on behalf of someone else.

A donation of £5 will cover the cost of:

A garden tool for a student studying Agriculture; Gum Boots for a student studying Building and Construction; a shorthand textbook for a student studying Business; a waistcoat for a student studying Catering; an apron for a student studying Early Child Development or a manicure kit for a student studying Hair and Beauty.

A donation of £10 will cover the cost of:

A multimeter or overalls for a student studying Electrical Installation; overalls for a student studying Agriculture or Building and Construction or everyday ‘tools’ for a student studying Business studies.

A donation of £20 will cover the cost of:

A hand held hairdryer for a student studying Hair and Beauty; a scientific calculator for a student studying Mechanics; a pipe wrench or safety shoes for a student studying Plumbing.

A donation of £25 or over will go towards purchasing equipment for use on a course year on year; for example: A wheelbarrow; a marble cutter; a lamination machine; a trolley jack; a battery load tester.

These are just examples of equipment required for the variety of courses run by the institute. Every penny received by UgandAid will be used to purchase equipment for UgandAid students at Nile Vocation Institute. There is a small transaction fee deducted from the donation, depending on the method of payment.

We will send you a certificate electronically for you to print and give to your friend or family member

In order for us to send us the appropriate certificate, please provide your name, email address, and choice of donation. We can tailor the certificate to include the type of equipment your donation will buy, but we won’t put the monetary value on. If you are buying more than one gift, just enter the total amount and comment in the ‘donation value’ box about the make up of your donation. We will then send the relevant certificates.
